Since its foundation more than 170 years ago MAQUET has stood for innovation and technological progress.
Already since 2003 MAQUET has been using the XML content management system TIM-RS by Fischer Computertechnik. Four technical writers create and manage a steadily increasing number of publications time and cost-effectively. They create structured and modularized operating manuals and technical descriptions as well as unpacking, installation, cleaning and assembly manuals.
The service department at MAQUET is also working with TIM-RS on the basis of a Citrix Terminal Server Solution, using the same data store in TIM-RS, as well as the integrated translation management. Five technical writers create assembly, recycling and repair manuals. Once the manuals are pre-translated in TIM-RS only delta translations with the translation memory system SDL Trados® need to be done.
„The standardization of modules provides for an increased module quality as well as a reduced number of modules to be managed. A unified content strategy improves the creation and translation process and facilitates the change management in all publications", emphasizes Michael Boll, Manager Technical Documentation at MAQUET.
